Job Description

Background: The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Skills Development Programme forms part of the national initiative to accelerate the implementation of the Regulations for the Mandatory Display and Submission of Energy Performance Certificates for Buildings, as promulgated on 8 December 2020 and subsequently amended on 25 November 2022 and 03 August 2023. The amendments clarified that Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are to be issued by an accredited body prior to 31 July 2024, and thereafter by a registered professional in accordance with SANS 1544:2014. The primary objective of the EPC Skills Development Programme (SDP) is to support building owners and accounting officers by providing a pool of trained unemployed graduates to: • Collect and analyse data required for the registration and assessment of buildings. • Support the issuance of EPCs. • Contribute to improving the energy performance of buildings in line with regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the programme aims to capacitate graduates to become EPC Practitioners, with a pathway towards registration as EPC Professionals. The programme is coordinated by the Department of Electricity and Energy (DEE) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and implemented by SANEDI through a Programme Management Unit (PMU). The programme structure includes:• An 10-day EPC Skills Development Programme covering EPC fundamentals and EPC data-collection. • Top performing Learners will be selected to attend an 12 Months EPC training with both Theory and Practice. 2. Graduate Training Specifications The 10-day EPC Skills Development training Programme at NQF Level 4 aims to equip unemployed graduates with foundational technical knowledge, practical datacollection skills to support • Energy Performance Certificate-related activities. • Collection and capturing of building energy-performance data in accordance with prescribed EPC requirements. The programme will provide participants with exposure to EPC data collection, building information gathering, data capturing and quality assurance. Training Location: Participating TVET Colleges from selected Provinces. Expected Start Date: To be communicated - training scheduled to begin from 12 October 2026 Monthly stipend: No monthly stipend and transport allowance is not guaranteed. SANEDI reserves the right to place and/or transfer successful Learners to any location within the programme, based on operational requirements. 3. Qualifications and Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: • South African citizens aged 18–35 years • Must be unemployed.Application Process: Interested applicants must submit the required information and supporting documents via the application link provided. Requirements

Qualifications

• Have a Grade 12/Matric certificate or an NQF Level 4 equivalent Qualification. • Have Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy at Grade 12 Matric or NQF Level 4. • Be willing and available to participate for the full 10-day programme.
